What did it feel like when it got better?

Hi all.

I have had ETD for about 8 months. Every day it was just constant pop and crackle in my left ear - rising to a crescendo of what sounded like a distorted speaker in my ear, several times a day. I never had any ear fullness (Type A Tymp) and could always valsalva very easily - in fact more easily in my affected ear.

I threw everything at it. Neti pot, Dymista (steroid spray), antihistamine, psuedoephadrine, 1 course of prednisolone, steam - you name it.

The ENT's only suggestion was grommets but I don't particularly want them as I have otoscelrosis and I am worried about anything that may further damage my hearing.

Anyway after 8 months my symptoms started to reduce and then all but dissapear. Now I have some light fizzing in my left ear and very occasionally it does a wet pop (maybe two or three times a day). Oddly my right ear now sometimes has a very soft crackle/ fizz.

If you have managed to come out the other side of ETD how did it go? Did it just stop or did it continue at a low level or what?

Oddly I have worst anxiety now it is better as I am terrified it will come back.....
