Well I imagine its so it gets absorbed into your bloodstream better on an empty stomach, and doesn't get urinated out. I have also been told that eating too close to taking the meds can cause nausea, but since I take mine at night, I can't confirm that. This is why I take mine just before bedtime, because the body system slows right down and allows the meds to do their job without the regular daytime digestion and toileting habits. I wouldn't want to change to a daytime med intake, because like yourself, I am up and busy out of the house quite soon after breakfast. smile

Hi Eric smile Well I take mine at around 10pm, and am up at around 7am or thereabouts. No sleep disruption, other than occasionally waking up about 2am feeling very warm. I can only imagine this is my metabolism getting a boost! After a drink of water or diluting juice, I find it very easy to fall back asleep again. I spoke with my consultant about it, and he said it wasn't anything to worry about since all my results have been stable for the last 5 years, and only to switch over to daytime use if waking up was a continuous thing and adversely affecting my day (which it doesn't). Waking up is the only symptom I have experienced, and it doesn't happen very often. Hope this is useful to you! smile
