I've been on sertraline for 6 weeks ( 2 at 25 and 4 at 50). Had a few better days initially but have gradually got worse and today have decided to go back to 25 mg. Really feel there has been a build up that I can't tolerate. Just thought I'd give you my experience. Do hope other people reply to give their experiences.

c53732 Ive seen so many ppl including myself experiencing that the most difficult week was the 3rd and the 4th and after this it gets better. 4 weeks is really not enough to decide if it is the right dose or not, I think it would have been better to wait at least 2 more weeks. Good luck anyways and get well soon!

just spoken to the doctor who has said to keep going with the sertraline. Maybe alternate 25 and 50 dose. I will do this and also start taking it at night. Your comment about 3rd and 4th week being difficult has encouraged me to keep going.

This timeline is from the Bruno Truth group, obviously not exactly the same for everybody but most people roughly can agree with it:

I am putting this up as a sticky for new people to read and for others to direct them to when appropriate. This way I won’t have to post it 5,678 times. 😺

Bruno’s time frame for those of you that say why aren’t I better week 3 why aren’t i better week 5 week 6. You’ve heard this over and over it’s a roller coaster. It truly is. I hear people say oh gosh I had a few good day’s now I’m bad again. It’s NORMAL. You are not level. Zoloft is the slowest of all the SSRIS. Give each dose the proper time to level to see where you stand. 12 weeks on one dose. Each time you try and up your dose it starts all over.

Week 1-3 couldn’t get off couch sooooooo sick. Violently sick at times. Sooooo nauseated dizzy zero sleep can’t eat forced food. Heart racing increased horrible anxiety. Wired but tired. Couldn’t sit still sometimes but so tired. FOG HEAD. Eyes hurt.

Week four all the same crap but not quite as bad still zero sleep still bad anxiety spells.

Week five nausea starting to lift still no sleep a glimmer of time frames feeling better but then anxiety hits hard again.

Week six starting to sleep a little more still anxiety spells once to twice daily.

Week 7. HORRIBLE doctor tried to up my dose. Tried it and was hell so went back to 50 to see it through the 12 weeks.

Weeks 8 and 9 sleeping better eating better. Still anxiety spells twice a day including morning anxiety.

Week 10 anxiety spells still but less. Still am anxiety.

Week 11 middle of week started really feeling decent thought I was leveled. Nope.....

Week 12-15 doing decent an occasional anxiety blip. Am anxiety finally leaving.

Week 15-22 now feel fabulous. Energy no more tired all the time. LEVEL.

      HAVE PATIENCE!!!!!!!

Just spotted that "Have patience!" at the end of the text can be a bit offensive, I copied and pasted it with the rest above it, it wasn't me. Get well soon!

    Hi,

I too was advised by my Dr to up dosage from 50mg to 100mg sertraline which at first I did. However, the only effect I noticed is how dehydrated I would become and the excessive sweating which was embarrassing. It was that bad that I have reduced back to 50mg and have been asked to make an appointment with the Doctors to review, however with the current situation I think my problem may be trivial against the needs of some others and don't want to waste any of their time....

I was prescribed this drug to reduce my daily head pressure / brain fog form anxiety, to date I haven't noticed much difference other than the sweating - still feel daily brain fog and head pressure...
