Have they told you to cut fat out of your diet? If they haven't, stop eating all fatty foods right away. My surgery went really well, I was sore for about a week and then tender for another 2. After your op, if you need to cough, grab a pillow and press it into your stomach. Then curl around the pillow. It helps. You'll be fully recovered in under a month. I've not had any side effects since my operation in May. I can eat whatever I want and have had no pain. You might get a sore shoulder for about a week after your operation, that'll be the gas they use to blow your tummy up. Nothing some paracetamol won't fix! You'll be fine, I promise :-)

I was admitted to hospital 4 times (each month) with the infected gallbladder, each time they booked me in for surgery I ended in hospital again on a antibiotic drip 4-5 days. I was on antibiotics for 3 months but helped a bit but still ended up with an attack. Recovery after surgery depending on the person.  I had a difficult surgery, and still recovering after 6 months,  I know people who have had no problems after surgery and even loss weight. I was told don't worry everything will be OK.  I emailed these persons and told them I would not believe them again.

I'm sorry you had such a hard time. That must have been terrible for you! Have you had any other side effects after your surgery? Maybe I was just one of the lucky ones...

Hang in there! The surgery is easy.  Make sure you leave the hospital with information on how to take care of your keyholes.

Walk around the house a little at a time. Rest! Drink lots of water. No lefty and bending hurts.

Eat a low fat diet. Any questions on what you shouldn't eat or can eat just ask.

Everybody getts nervous before surgery just get your mind on the out come and don't think about the surgery.

It will probably be about a month recovery. I had my op Nov 11 and it took me until Dec to feel better. But if you over do it you can have set backs; I have had a few set backs. You will have good days; when you do don't over do it, you can over do it and pull things.

Don't move or lift heavy things. Stay on your low fat diet. Drink a lot of water and use ice packs to help with the pain.

Any questions just ask.  Good luck!
