I've been getting these episodes recently that last for around 40 minutes were it feels like my heart is fluttering and there is an extra part of my heart that is beating. I don't get any other symptoms like diziness or a fast heart rate, but it feels weird and quite scary. Do other people experience this?

That's sounds a lot like SVT, when I first had episodes (unaware of what SVT was) it felt how you described. it doesn't always feel like a fast beat, to me sometimes it felt as though my heart had dropped an inch and fluttered.

Palpitations can certainly feel like that, Tommy, and I encourage to pursue this with your health care people. You might learn that there's nothing of significance going on, and there's lots of help available if you are experiencing palpitations. I wish you well.
