What do tender points feel like

Hi All

I just cant figure out if I have fibro or not.  Can anyone tell me a bit about their tender points.  I have spots where it hurts, but it doesnt actually hurt where I touch.  For instance, I might push on my neck and it hurts down my back, my muscles are super tight and achy and I think it is referral pain.

Does it acturally hurt on the spot you touch... or does the pain refer.

Thanks

Hi Ouch, fibro is different for everyone. Where my pains are are painful to their specific areas. I'm no chiropractor or masseuse so maybe if someone can have a look it may be you have some trapped nerves causing pain elsewhere when you touch an area? Hope you find out how you can work out where the pain stems from.

Hi ouch. When I was diagnosed my rheumatologist said that my tender

points were palpable, so he could feel a knot in the muscle under the skin.

However, they don't always present as a palpable lump. If you look up

Fibromyalgia online Web MD and other sites will show you where the 18

    pressure points are. Feel better.

Like pressing on a bruise. when my rheumatologist pressed my pressure points it made me wince. it was my reaction to him pressing the pressure points that made him give me my fibro diagnosis, of course all other possibilities had to be ruled out first. took almost 3 years to get my diagnosis. sad
