What does a blood clot feel like in the leg?

Ok a couple of days ago whilst I was walking, I had the strangest sensation ever. It felt like a lump about the size of a marble, traveled down my thigh and stopped just above the knee. It made me stop walking because of the pain, which didn't last long thankfully.

Just wondered if any of you have had this happen before? If you don't mind sharing your stories.

I am seeing my endocrinologist tomorrow, so will be asking him about that 😃

If you have any doubts, ask for a vascular ultrasound scan of your leg when you see your specialist tomorrow.

I don't want to scare you, but when I had a DVT in my leg at first, I had been on a long haul flight 5 days before I had the pain. I thought it was muscular. The pain got worse and after 2 weeks, my leg was scanned. it turned out, I had several DVT's in the leg and an embolism in the foot. Also diagnosed was an aneurysm inside the knee. The aneurysm clotted and blocked the blood supply from the knee, to below the knee and foot.

I had to have a bypass using one of my blood vessels to restore the circulation. A big op lasting 7 hours. During the operation, a device sucked out most of the blood clots. The foot and leg was saved. That was 3 years ago. I am on a blood thinner for life. The blood thinner helps to keep the bypass working and it helps prevent clots.

Had I not waited and got diagnosed straight away, I am sure my condition would not have been as bad as it was. Be lucky! be safe. Keep posting.

I'm kind of in the same boat, I was out walking on sunday and when I was on my way home I felt something akin to a tense muscle in my right calf, along with a cluster of brownish spots on my inner and outer right ankle. fast forward to today and since sunday my right ankle has been aching on and off, and I feel like something is moving around in not just my right but left legs as well. I'm on blood thinners, Eliquis, and I'm walking to try and lose weight (I'm just over 200 lbs) should I be worried that my blood thinner isnt working?

I should note I have no intense pain at all in my ankle or my legs

Apologies for my late reply. If I may suggest, ask for an urgent vascular ultrasound scan to check for any problems with blood flow/blood clots in your leg, or ring up and speak to a DOCTOR about your concerns and symptoms.

I had a private vascular ultrasound scan in the UK in Feb and the left leg bypass is still working very well and normal blood flow. The right leg scan showed a knee Aneurysm of 2.2 cm. I was told at 2.5 cm it will need to be repaired and no sign of blood clots. I felt reassured after having the scan and seeing the specialist.

could an urgent care center do that? or should I go to the ER?

Mine felt like I'd pulled a muscle that was progressively getting more painful. I'd had major surgery a week before and was recovering in bed so I knew I couldn't have pulled a muscle. At the ER, they noticed a hard lump in my groin area which I hadn't noticed, which turned out to be a DVT. As others have suggested, if you're concerned, seek medical attention.
