it looks like you actually have both. hsv2 could be a crossover re action or a false positive. when was the last time you think you may of had an exposure. why did you test to begin with.

It looks like im testing positive and negative for HSV2 but what does that mean?

I'm not sure what the supplemental test means sorry. But from the tests it looks like your index numbers are 15.40 and 3.52 which are both over 0.90 meaning a positive result for both. However, the 3.52 for HSV2 is in the low positive range meaning there is a chance it could be a false-positive. You can take the 'Western Blot' test to find this out, but it's a bit pricey. Even if you do have both types of HSV, it's really not a big deal I promise you. Stay calm and see what the Doctor says when you get hold of them.

thats weird , by the numbers its telling you. you might have been exposed to both types since the score to be postive is greater than 0.90 and both your scores are higher

    not exactly sure

They mean that you are positive for both HSV-1 and HSV-2. The supplemental test for HSV-2 was completed to ensure that you were not receiving a false-positive HSV-2 reading. The cutoff for a true positive is 3.5, and with you being positive for HSV-1, sometimes there is limited cross-reactivity that makes some people appear positive for both, when really they just have a high value assigned to their HSV-1 infection.

With them having done the confirmatory test, you can feel positive that you have both HSV-1 and HSV-2.
