What happened to me arthritis?

Hi,

Feeling a little spaced (increasinlgly so) and naueous at the moment, but hope to make sense!

I have just replied to someone's post to me here and realise I have not (I don't think) posted a question I have. The question is - has anyone experienced or heard of anyone's osteoarthritis going away? OK, I know it cannot go away, but I don't have the pain in me knees anymore and I am walking like yer average person! Walking that is, without hobling, plus the creaking of the joints, locking of the knees, aching in th hips and noises my bones used to make - are not!

Think I'll rest now be nack later.

Hello David, There is currently no cure for Osteo Arthritis. The symptoms can be controlled with drugs and therapies. Knee replacements can give relief and better mobility. I have suffered with Arthritis since the age of 11 first septic Arthritis and developed into Osteo Arthritis. I have had my knee replaced twice. Unless you have found a miracle cure David, i don't think it could be Arthritis you have.

      Hi Elizabeth,

Please don't worry, I did not think you were questioning me arthritis. I fully appreciate your experience with it and wish there was a cure for you this Christmas after living with it for so long. I try not to take drugs at all, but when I do I stick with what the instructions. To date I have only taken anti inflammatories and painkillers, nothing precribed specifically for arthritis. Even though it has effected my gait, stance and began causing other knock on aches and pains I am told (after 9 years) it is still too early for any op etc.

Anyway, I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year!

      Kind Regards,

      David

    Hi Elizabeth,

I realise that there is no cure for osteoarthritis, but I do have it believe me. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same relief from pain and the associated symptoms as I am now. I don't as a rule take drugs if I can help it and now find myself having to so I just thought I'd ask.

This is a great supportive site and I am learning so much since I have signed up for it. Thank you for you reply.

    Best Regards,

    David

I have osteoarthritis, and sometimes it is worse than others.  Had a lot of physiotherapy at hospital earlier in the year as had severe arthritic pain in my back.  It eased it a lot, and now I only occasio9nally get back pain.  I also have arthritis in my hands and one wrist.  There are times I do not get pain, and other times it is bad.  No I don't think arthritis goes away, but it just eases sometimes and the pain goes.
