Hi , I have been treating this condition for a number of years with a combination of physiotherapy modalities calf stretches, taping and orthotics. For many this works, for some it doesn't and the problem is really stubborn. I have recently invested in a shockwave machine ESWT which I am finding is really effective in this condition regardless of how stubborn it is. If you would like any more info about what treatment maybe appropriate please let me know. I am a physio who has worked for the NHS and privately for 14 years.

    Hi

I had ultrasound therapy at hospital tail end of last year after having PF for 5 months, it helped me along with heel /feet massages by physio

Unfortunately it had flared up again this weekend and now arranging to see my GP to begin the whole frustrating process again

Don't worry too much, if the physiotherapist is unable to help they may refer you to a podiatrist for orthotics or some sort of foot inserts to take the pressure off. When I had this I found rolling my foot over a frozen plastic bottle of water helped massage it and helped reduce the inflammation.

Was referred to orthotics last oct they gave me insoles that helped take pressure of my feet

    The physio did help

returned to work gradually , been back full time for three weeks but unfortunately the PF returned with a vengeance this weekend

returned to consult my gp who said that in all probability my plantar hadnt healed fully and all the pressure on my feet had taken its toil

was informed by specialists last year that I had a severe case of PF but eventually my feet would be ok, at the time couldnt give me time frame as every case is different

Gp has referred me back to physio to start the whole process again
