Everyone is different I know but this is working for me so far. I have tried Fluexotine and Sertraline and I've been struggling for the last 2 months especially with the anxiety, I decided enough was enough , I've finished with the Antidepressants and have started to take 5 HTP and I'm reading a book called Making Friends with Anxiety and it's a real good read and put things into perspective.

    Hope this helps xx

Interesting, someone else referred to an attitude of resignation and acceptance as being a huge help in dealing with WD. Maybe that's where the book is coming from.  Makes sense.  Fighting with the symptoms within yourself just creates more anxiety....

I was weaning off Tramadol and my doctor prescribed me a couple meds, one for RLS (restless leg syndrome) One for BP (Clonodine) and Xanax for the anxiety. Although it really helped (.5mg low) during my wean. Later I needed to wean off of that. Weaning off of any medication/drugs you have been on for quite awhile is a process. I have a doctor I am able to be honest with. He worked with me. I am medication FREE now for over a week and it feels good to be me. I'd rather have ice paks on my back then pop a pill any day. I hope you find your solution. I do not envy you. Its rough but "other" meds do make the withdrawal easier. Angel

Thanks, Angel! I live in Mexico now and only have the meds I brought from the U.S.  I have a small stash of Xanax which really helps.  Amazing you are getting relief after a week!  I've had a few awful and a few really good days this week. Focusing on the good.

I probably didn't make myself clear LOL it has been a couple of months. I've been medication free for a little over a week...

I wrote about my tormented experience. I really feel for anyone who has to go through Tramadol, Xanax etc withdrawals.

After going through hell and back "back" is important to me. I can now live my life. I don't have to worry about taking a pill so I can feel "normal" I don't have to "make" sure I packed some pills when I leave the house. It's no way to live life. Big Pharma and the medical world knows better. #$$$$$rules

Hope you find some kind of relief. Hope you get the help you need. Not sure about Mexico and the way the doctors work. But I hear it's easier to get what you need there...just be careful.
