What is going on? 43 mom of a 4 and 6 year old

My period has been out of the ordinary since June. I am always very regular and have 4 day periods. Since June, though, I was late, and when it finally came, it never stopped! Then it died down for a few days, but there is always spotting. It's the period that never ends. I am sooooo tired, and when I wake up, I feel sore. Then it goes away as the day goes on. I have an appointment to get check out next month. Has anyone experienced this? I feel like everyday life lately is such a chore.

Hi Melissa,
I did have that happen a few years ago, and I guess it was my body's first attempt at skipping a period...? I napped A LOT that month, it was like walking through quicksand all day... brain fog, and every part of me just felt "heavy". I felt better as the day went on.
When my periods went back.to normal, I felt better overall.
It's hard with kids, I know.
But it does sound like low progesterone, maybe?
Hope you feel better soon!

I am not sure yet. I have an appt with a new gyn in 3 weeks, and will be asking that very question. My current doc does not prescribe that option, but I have trouble with the synthetic form. I am sensitive to soooo many things now.
I will report back on my progress.

toria,
you can get natural progesterone cream in most health food stores or online at places that sell vitamins.

toria,
I get my bio identical progesterone capsules through my holistic doc . If your doc won't prescribe them you should be able to find a alternative dr in your area. You seem to have a lot of ongoing issues. A good alternative dr just might be able to get to the root cause of some of your stuff so you can enjoy life without all these problems. Insurance companies don't cover any of this but for me it has been worth every nickel. Good luck!
