What is the procedure for a Cardioversion

i know it is a short day unit, but it is it with a general or sedative.? Is the outcome likely to correct my AF.....

    Hello Kathleen, I think it depends on the Dr carrying out the proceedure could be a very short acting general anesthetic or gas. In my case they used gas only with no general anesthetic. I knew nothing about it whatsoever and was concious in no time at all. In my case it was 100% sucessful and from what I gather it is only unsucessful in a very small number of cases.       Thank you for that, I am going in on Friday, I am PAF, so hoping no frogs leaping In my chest!!!..the cardiac nurse mentioned a sedative, I think I would accept that, not scared at the procedure. You say the outcome is good, so here's hoping.....
