Maybe you just discovered it at 14. I don't know if there's a medical term for it. Even though you have it consider yourself lucky in a way - yours's very symetrical, mine is less so and I have some more discoloration, always thought its so as a result of my foreskin being a latebloomer, Couldn't pull it backwards fully until being a teenager so I thought the color change may have to do something with some kind of balanitis.

Thank you for your reply and the opportunity to compare notes.
Before I get into my comments, you should get your condition checked out by a doctor and get a definitive diagnosis. If it is balanitis, it is treatable.
I have been lucky in that respect in that when it gets uncomfortable under the foreskin, washing with soap and water fixes the situation.
Now on to my penis-tory.
To give you some context, I was able to retract my foreskin for as long as I can remember.
This is because of a premature forced foreskin retraction that the family doctor performed on me at 6 months of age, by inserting a blade between the glans and foreskin. I think I have no frenulum to speak of because of this.
Anyway, I was taught from a young age to wash under the foreskin so I saw my glans quite often and it was smooth.
Shortly before I turned 14, I did not have an opportunity to take a bath or shower for a few days and when I pulled my foreskin back to pee, I saw some smegma accumulating where the glans and corona meet. I was worried the smegma was eating into the glans. When I finally had a shower, the first thing I did was wash under the foreskin and there was the crack.
My guess is that connective tissue between the glans and corona broke and the smegma just fell into the gap.
It was all painless and I have been assured by 4 different doctors that it's nothing to worry about and it's just a normal variant among penis-heads. I believe that because it does not itch, sting, bleed or ooze disgusting fluids.
While this feature does not seem to be common, it is apparently not uncommon and the commentary I have read on sites like this is that it is the result of using harsh soaps when washing the penis.
Maybe so, but I have tried washing my glans with just water, but after a couple of days of this, it gets smelly and uncomfortable, so I go back to using soap.
I'm ok with my glans looking the way it does, but I would like to know the medical term for this. After all, medical books have names for every groove and crease on the body, so this crack in the glans should have a name too, by my way of thinking.
