What Is This Cut/Circular Thing On My Penis & How Do I Heal it

I have had this cut or open wound on the foreskin of my penis for a few years now, and it has not healed.  I attatched some photos of it, its like a circular open wound.  Is there anything I can do to get it to heal?  I have tried using polysporin and vaseline covering it with a bandaid for a few days but nothing happens.

I am worried that if i become sexually active it could be infected from whatever this is.

From the pics you've posted, it doesn't look like an unhealed wound to me, and I don't see how it could get infected.  Can you remember it ever not being there?  If not, it may have been formed before you were born as part of the perineal raphe - the line that goes all the way from the frenulum down the penis, down the scrotum and beyond.

Unless it seems to change colour or texture, then I personally wouldn't bother getting it looked at unless you happen to seeing a doctor for another reason.  I certainly wouldn't try to talk you out of making an appointment just to get it checked out though.

I'd actually be more worried about what looks like dry flaky skin around the base of the shaft in the first pic.  Maybe some emollient cream or a different soap might help.

I didn't have it before, it only came a few years ago.  I didn't worry about it because I was not sexually active, but now that I may be soon I worry more about it.  Would the family doctor work for getting this checked?

Do you know how you got it?  Some kind of injury?  The family doctor would be a good place to start, though like I said, personally I'd probably wait till I was seeing them for something else.  If you're in the UK, you could go to a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic and see a urologist for free - google "GUM clinic near me" for details.

I think it could of been from masterbation, however I am not sure.  I just remember looking down several years ago and seeing that.  I will probably get it checked out from my family doctor within the next few weeks
