is this some form of arthritis?
it shows up more when finger is bent.

Looks like a ganglion cyst to me, but I am not a doctor (a daughter of a nurse though!) I believe they often go away of their own accord, but if it is causing you problems or you are worried about it, go see your doctor.

It could be a myxoid cyst. I have one on my middle finger. They can be drained off by needling but may come back. I think they are related to Arthritis in the joint affected.
