What is this pain ?

Hi,

Over the last 7 years I have had 3 terrible cases of acute pancreatitis. The first 2 requiring me to be hospitalised for over 2 months both times with stays in the ITU.

I have had both my gallbladder and my appendix out but have recently been feeling terrible pain in my lower right side. I had bloods taken and my amylase levels were at 78 so well within the parameters.

My consultant has now decided I need an endoscopy to see what is going on. I was wondering if anyone else has had this sort of pain. Im 24, I do not drink and live a relatively healthy lifestyle.

It as possible that your pancreas is damaged because of your history, although it doesn't fit with low down pain. Pancreas issues normally cause pain high up in the abdomen, just below the rib cage.

Thanks for the reply stuart. Do you have any idea what it could be ? The pain is a dull and feels like pancreas pain but does not radiate to my back, like you said its to low for it to be my pancreas.
