What is this small 2mm, flat, brown spot on my glans?

Hi everyone,

I have had a few episodes of recurrent balanitis for the past two years. For the past 4 months I've changed my hygiene practices and have had no recurrent episodes. About 2-3 months ago I noticed a flat, brown spot around 2 mm in size on my penis. You can see it in the image attached below:

This spot did not exist 2 years back (I have picture evidence), but could have existed as far as 1 year back - a slight brown pigmentation is noticeable in those picture around the same size.

Any idea what this could be, and if it could be dangerous? Thanks!

Hmm, not sure if it's exactly the same... in your case you're saying it looks like a pimple? Is it raised? Can you feel it if you move your finger across it?

Because in my case, it's completely flat, just a round 2 mm brown spot.

@kim12266 any ideas about what this could be or if it's something to worry about?

My best advice would be if you want this sorted you need to see a Dermatologist that specialises in Genital Skin Disorders - do an internet search for one in the area in which you live ...

Well, thing is I've already been to a Urologist for a different problem, and also showed him this and asked him. He said he doesn't know what it is and that I should keep watching it, but since it's smaller than 2 mm (about 1.6 mm to be more exact) in size, it doesn't look like anything serious to him. He said he probably wouldn't even have noticed it if I hadn't brought it up.

I pressed him for an answer, and he also said if I want to have an answer to what it is, I could try to see a dermatologist, but again he doesn't think it's anything serious.

So I wouldn't want to go straight to the dermatologist without any further cause. That's why I was reaching out hoping I could find someone who has some further knowledge online. Based on my reading/research, it could be penile melanosis, just a new freckle/mole, or hyperpigmentation due to recurrent balanitis. The worrying thing would obviously be melanoma, BUT I think my urologist is right and it's too small to be that, it's not asymmetric, etc.

I have the same problem and situation with Urologist opinion. Did you find out what it is about?
