What is this small, painful to the touch, bump on hand?

For the past few months, I have had a small bump on the palm of my left hand. It is soft and painful to the touch, to the point where if I brush my left hand against something at an odd angle, it hurts. This is especially bothersome because I'm left handed and that means I hold a lot of things with my left hand of course. The bump is barely noticeable unless you look closer, it doesn't protrude out of my hand too much or anything.

This is what it looks like up close, this is the best picture I could get. This part of the skin is slightly transparent underneath, but I can't clearly see anything.

Is this a blister, callous, corn, or something else? Could there be something stuck underneath? If so what do I do to take care or get rid of it?

I would say its either a wart or you have a foreign body under the skin, something like a splinter of wood or glass. Its amazing how deep these little objects can get and the skin heals over them. Talk to your doctor. As its on the palm of your hand its in a sensitive place and may need a tiny incision under local anaesthetic to get it out. Would only take a minute or so and nothing to worry about. Dont try it yourself because of infection.
