I get to the bedroom, lie in bed sitting against the head board with pillows behind me, eyes closed, garbage pail next to me on the night stand for when I vomit. If it's a really severe attack I always vomit. Milder cases I lie there with my eyes closed till it passes. Episodes usually last an hour or two. I usually fall asleep after that.

One more thing. I just got myself a medic alert necklace just in case I have an episode while not being home. Most people are not familiar with MD so I have printed "Meniere's disease. I am subject to extreme vertigo and vomiting."

I try to always have antinausea drugs with me (Buccastem, Stemetil) which will usually suppress symptoms sufficiently to get to safety (lay-by if driving, bed if at home).
It seems to me the key is prevention so if the warning signs of trouble recur (increased tinnitus, fullness in ear and feeling off colour, dizzyness) I get straight onto a high dose of Betahistine (Serc) and stay on it for 6 months plus.
Hope this helps!

I would go to bed, take Buccastem, have bucket beside bed and wait for vertigo to pass. Sometimes 5-6 hours. Would take 3 days before I had recovered. Stay in bed day 1, get up a little on day 2 and day 3 felt able to get up for full day with not much dizziness. When I went back to work after I started taking Betahistine and vertigo went away I had a camp stretcher in my office to lie on if needed. Didn't need it and after a few months I got rid of it. Went off betahistine lately and dizziness returned so have gone back on it again. Haven't had a full on vertigo attack since april 2015. Plenty of tinnitus, aural fullness and times when I feel dizzy. My first vertigo attack was at work and I went by ambulance to hospital. Remaining ones have been at home and I took myself to bed. Quiet room and keep believing the epsiode will eventually end. Didn't go out much when i was having vertigo as didn't want to travel in a car or be out when it happened. All my attacks happened over a 3 month period so far.
