What kind of diseases can a person get from doing this?

Hello everyone, and the health professionals

What I am about to tell you is too shameful for words, I am not even sure how to retell the story. The whole thing is terribly disgusting and horrible, please DO NOT READ if you can not tolerate such stuff.

Today I got back home, when I found out that my dad, who is close to 60, 57 actually, and not always aware of what he is doing, has a bunch of tools in the toilet, and was sitting on the floor, and brownish water was everywhere, his knees was on the floor with brownish water all around, the foul stink of human feces had filled the air, explaining why the water was brownish, and my father was elbow deep into the toilet pipe. When I asked him what he was doing he said that something had dropped in the toilet and he was trying to catch it. I also noticed that he wasn't wearing any protective, sanitary, or at least plastic gloves unfortunately, and he was handling it with bare hand.

Now I was wondering why didn't he call the plumber, and what person in the right mind, with right intentions would want to do such a thing, I told him that this whole thing was extremely unsanitary and that he should stop it right now. Just like always he didn't listen to me, and carried on. Then when he was done, he just washed the tools with a little liquid soap, and then tried to wash the toilet and then he hit the showers.

Now I searched online and I found out that there are close to 77000 types of viruses, bacteria, fungus, and other things in the toilets many of which can not be cleaned with alcohol, soap, or water pressure or anything. While this toilet is being used by our family only, and no one has any serious bacterial infection or anything, it is still worrying me that his actions could lead into what kind of diseases?

I mean he was laying the dirty tools right on the sink where I brush my teeth every morning, and wash my hands and face. Also then he stores his tools in the kitchen. And God knows what or how he has taken a shower.

Although I took some bleach and whitex and liquid soap and tried to clean the whole toilet the sink and the shoes, and the taps and everywhere, but I am still worried about the kind of troubles his actions might have caused us.

Please tell me what can be done at this point? What should be done? And considering the spread of coronavirus, is this more dangerous than the coronavirus?

What should I use to clean the toilet, where should I clean, how should I clean the stuff?

Should I take my father to a doctor? Get a kind of antibacterial drug? What should I do?

Please help me I am panicking.

Your father is obviously not in his right mind and will resist anything you will suggest to help him. What you will probably have to do is to get a lawyer to get a court order known as a PINS petition. That stands for "person in need of supervision". You will then be able to get him the mental help he needs without resistance,

Thank you Lester, I was actually looking for ways to clean the stuff up so that we can be sure that they have no problems for one's health. Like what kind of disinfectant to use?

Hi if it was me I would make a strong solution of bleach and water and douse the whole bathroom with this and make sure that you scrub it really well, have the windows open so you have a good flow of air as obviously it's a pretty toxic smell

Once it's doused and has sat for about 10 minutes wash it down with clear water that should get rid of bacteria.

Do you mind me asking how old you are

I was only asking just in case you were a youngster as it would not have been appropriate for someone younger to be cleaning up that type of thing,, I'm old enough to be your mum 😂
