In January, I had viral laryngitis from an outbreak in the office. Six months later I developed shingles and after some research, learned that viral laryngitis can develop into shingles. I was lucky, I was just starting to break out after having a painful scalp, forehead and temple over the weekend, and the doctor recognized it as shingles and prescribed antivirals. Two unorthodox things have helped, Zantac for swelling and Equate Severe Allergy Plus Sinus Headache for pain. Neither are meant for shingles, but they are extremely effective! I wouldn't be able to work without them. I'm still only a week into having shingles, and my biggest fear is permanent disfigurement. My eye looks like it melted down my face right now. But I wear glasses at work and keep my head down and I'm just hoping for the best!

Yes, he sent me to an eye specialist the same day. She told me if I feel like something is in my eye or I see weird things like halos or something in my vision, I need to call her right away. So far so good!

Glad to hear you're on top of the eye thing and Shingles.
