Oh Sheila you really have been through it, I can understand about you getting oral thrush have you tried natural yoghurt that helps with thrush, I relate with you about sleeping I normally wake about 2.30am I still have to have cocodomol an hour before I go to bed, how are you getting on with walking, I am 6 weeks post op and I have got to watch the 90 degree rule for another 6 weeks as for work not for another 4 weeks and then it will be a couple of weeks phase return. I am a cashier in supermarket so tend to do a lot of lifting heavy cases of beer and wine and looking after self scan tills which involves a lot of twisting. Hope the you soon get better xx

I live in Devon, village is Exminster, outside Exeter,

I was lucky, not having been in pain for months on end, and not having a planned op, didn't have much time to worry about it,

Just went out intending to be home in a few hours,  not one week later

I did intend to walk into the village where we have a Tesco,( for the yoghurt) but started to rain and I was afraid to go as the ground was wet when I fell, so not walked on  damp ground yet . will try the chemist tomorrow.

Hi Sheila perhaps it is your meat+ carbs mix, they told me to eat more meat and cut out the potatoes and pasta+ bread, so I am eating meat, fish,+chicken not in pies just the real thing in chunks, with a few chips or baked potatoes + few veg, but every day, I am not skimping on the meals, and have a nice steak dinner toinight when the wife has sliced cooked roast beef from Sainsburys, could be why I am getting better fast, but I am putting on a bit of weight because of the lack of excercise, but geting better faster is all I am focused on right now...

Hope you are fine and can get to the bottom of this worrying problem.

    Ian.

Sorry for the partial post. I am using an iPhone instead of my trusty Droid.

What I want to say Sheila is that you are in the trenches battling in a war that is taking a toll on your body and spirit. I am so sorry that you are going through this. Even in your darkest hours, mine come in the night, just hang on and search, search, search, for even the thinnest silver lining.

One day soon, all will balance out. And please do not hesitate to post because you are not one of few on here who have suffered with major things gone wrong. In fact there are a great many of us.

I thank God for this site for I felt like giving up on life because of my extreme situation. So write when you can and need to.

I too live with thrush from heavy antibiotic use for a lung disease I live with. What helps me is a prescription mouth rinse and swallow. Also there is a pill that helps me too but I cannot think of the name of it. Another way to balance your Ph is with vinegar, so eat dill pickles and drink the pickle juice. The pickles cannot contain sugar. Sugar makes yeast infections and thrush worse, yet yeast causes sugar cravings. Dark chocolate, 70% cocoa and higher helps stop those cravings.

For more ways to help fight your battle with your health, there is a forum on here about alternate medicines and health remedies that is full of people with great knowledge. You might consider posting there too.

I am on your side in my thoughts and prayers.

I feel for you having thrush, long term

I am lucky, as hopefully once I stop the antibiotics,( next wednesday) it will resolve,

will call into the chemist tomorrow

Dear Sheila, so sorry that you are having such a challenging time right now ..

pro-biotics is also very good to take to balance the system after anti-biotics and can be found in natural, unsweetened yoghurt - might even be soothing for your mouth ... I know about the shoulder pain when sleeping on your side - the whole thing about sleeping feels tense and unnatural to me - even at 14 weeks post-op I am still aware about how to position my body and legs etc ...

well, I hope you will get some good hours of uniterrupted sleep tonight ... try to relax and be gentle with your self ... this too shall pass - warm hug

    Hi sheila

Everyone on here has had bad days and good days. If you want to rant about life go ahead no one takes it personally. It is better to write it on a forum where everyoner else has gone through there rollercoaster some better than others. I am still in constant pain with my collapsed right hip and the knee has locked so I can't extend it making it very difficult to walk. So we may all have our different reasons to rant but if we must get the negative feelings out it is much better to write them down and share with those who understand. So please do not stop posting. I made a post saying I wouldn't be about much about a week ago. But it was onlt because I was on a down day or two. I have to admit now after everything I have had done and all the ops I have had done in my life. This one has really knocoked me badly. I usually bounce right back and try and get on with life. But not this time. So I totally get it and you really do have to realise there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It might be a  long one but one day you will see it I promise.

I hope your infection clears up soon. and you get your other problems sorted soon aswel. x
