What's causing these migraines?

I am a 16 year old male.

For about 1 year I have been having migraines on and off. My first known migraine was after playing rugby, about 2 years ago. I was tackled and landed on my head. Not much pain at first but later on I lost vision and during the night had an extremely paint headache if you can even call it that.

I have tried to remember all of my migraine details but I have missed out some attacks that I do not remember the details of.

:After this I did not have a migraine until after one morning almost exactly 1 year ago where after staying in a house with a swimming pool I went swimming in the morning and afterwards had a migraine and vominting. (Could that be to do with something in the water?)

:The next one I recall was soon afterwards I was sitting at school and suddenly I had a loss of vision and a migraine.

:Walking to school I felt extremely dizzy and couldn't keep my balance and I had a migraine about 1 hour afterwards at school.

:Playing 5 a side football, sudden loss of vision and migraine

:Football head collision and migraine

-No migraines from December 14th- Februrary

:After walking back from football migraine

:After playing football at school migraine

-After this I went for a blood test and was given Iron pills to see if they would stop my migraines and they did. From March-October I did not experiance a migraine.

Last sunday however I was playing football and afterwards had a migraine. This comes the same day I am told by my doctor that I no longer need to be taking iron pills.

The only trigger I can think of is as football is featured a lot in my triggers heading the football might bring on the migraine, as on sunday I played in a differant position that required me to head the ball quite hard and lots of times.

These migraines have a very negative impact on my life as they disable me for 2 days with a migraine hangover, they also affect my school work and I get anxiety over them. Does anyone have any similar experiances or could maybe identify a trigger?

If i missed anything out just ask

Thankssmile

Certainly I'm not surprised about the rugby link! Concussion (a 'mild' traumatic brain injury) can lead to the start of migraine. Personally, mine started 10 years ago after an electric shock (I touched an electric fence by accident when taking a picture of something in the distance), and when I came back to (I blacked out) and since then I've had migraines that have increased in both duration and intensity since. I'm hypersensitive to touch, sound (different pitch noises can twigger a migraine for me), and light. I mention my own sensitivity to touch. I wouldn't dream of heading any ball with and TBI, mild or otherwise! I can't even have massage!
