Just wandering, I've been told exercise is good for anxiety by my GP and therapist but for me I just can't bring my self to do it without thinking I'm going to drop down dead with my health anxiety about my heart, then there's my breathlessness every day which also scares me about doing exercise. I can't win, I go for a couple of walks a day even on my walks im constantly thinking about my breathing and my heart etc I feel like my mind won't let go of these thoughts Ive been referred to a cardiologist by my GP just to put my mind at rest, I do mindfulness meditation which helps a bit, any tips advice anyone? Thanks in advance 🙂

Somehow you must challenge your irrational thoughts no matter how real they may seem. Have you ever tried CBT? Also, I recommend a life recovery Bible and prayer for anxiety. Maybe chamomile tea too. Hugs.

Thanks for your advice yeah I'm currently receiving CBT therapy but I don't feel its helping to be honest and on mitrazpine.

Have you ever tried xanax? That is good for panic and anxiety. Somehow you have to see panic for what it is and not be so afraid of it...by facing it and living to tell about it. smile

Don't think I have tried it no tried a few others propanolol fluoxetine setraline and now on mitrazpine. Just soooo hard to live with it everyday feels like I'm fighting a losing battle half the time?

You are suffering from Anxiety and the GP has arrange a test on your heart. He must think there is nothing wrong with your heart and He feels exercise will help you with your mood. I am disabled now and I am unable to take exercise like I used to do, although I do take exercise in different ways

In your case you could possibly power walk, walk, or swim, this may be helpful for your mood and help you coe to terms with your Anxiety.

In the past before my disability, I would go for a walk in a park at lunchtime and go dancing three times a week. On top of that I would swim 35 lengths every few days and it did my depression the world of good. Give it a try, you do not need to do what I did, just what you feel would be beneficial.

Luke I overcame that feeling by going out and running for an hour. I was so fed up, that thought, if something is gonna happen to me I better find out and be done with it and actually it calmed me down as after months of running I'm still waiting for a bad thing to happen. Guess what, I'm still alive smile dear but I know exactly how you feel, been there! Hope this helps, take care. Hugs, Terri

Thanks for your advice terry, I go for 2 walks a day and power walk it but still my breathing won't leave my mind and thoughts about my heart etc awful🙁I've been thinking about doing running for a while but had poor life style diet before etc but had all changed now eating fruit etc and 2 walks a day quit smoking etc so I'm building myself up to running with the walking fast but still even when I'm walking fast I still feel really dizzy and faint scary it is did it help with your Symtoms?

Luke, at first I was feeling dizzy and breathless because I was scared of dropping dead any second, but kept pushing and those symptoms just vanished also the breathing problem which, now I get sometimes during an actual anxiety attack. Hold on it will get better.

Thanks again terri so all this is normal and not just me lol I can't describe it its like this thing pulling in my chest that always wants to make me yawn or take a deep breath to try and catch my breath I try and ignore it but then my breath catches on it own🙁. Yeah that's my fear that I'll drop dead while out walking but yeah I'm going to build myself up then eventually start running.

Knowledge. Learn everything you can. There are tons od books, pocasts and even radio shows on this. Knowledge and understanding the sceience behind it will lower the fear factor. Its not a quick fix their are aspects of your personality that need to change so theres a lot that goes into all this. If its too much to workhen walk and learn yoga.  Yoga will help your mindset by default.
