I think it's more personal preference tbh. I have asked the same question a few times and it's a mixed bag of night or day.. I take me at night well evening 6pm. the logic behind taking it at night was getting the side effects in my sleep. but I dont think it ever really worked like that lol. and in the end I just got used to taking it then.

I take in the morning without any issues as per recommendations from my psych. I sleep well, I feel alert during daytime and I can even sleep over in the weekend after taking them.
As for upping the dose, it is usual to get anxiety, and side effects. It takes around 2 weeks time to level out.
Every time you change doses the body will usually react so it is tough to figure out the correct dosage. I have tried by slowly increasing and level out after each raise, and document the effects.
My latest raise was from 100 to 125 and felt awful for about 2 weeks but now I feel way better. This has been the theme for me every time.
Try to raise the dose in 25mg intervals it will cause less side effects. So 75mg for 2 weeks, then 100.
Sertraline is slow acting, so try to be patient. It can take up to 12 weeks to feel benefits. I know its difficult I've been there myself but it is worth to try to stick with it.

Good morning, I don't think it really matters what time you take your medication but perhaps better if you stick to the same time each day. Your body will gradually build up to your new dosage. Wishing you all the very best.

In my opinion as soon as you wake up with SERTRALINE
