What’s the best way to lose weight with GORD and hiatus hernia?

Hi

i was diagnosed a year ago with GORD and a hiatus hernia by endoscopy and I'm two stone overweight and know that it makes my symptoms worse I'm on omeprazole 20 mg daily, I had an ulcer in my oesophagus but fortunately that cleared up after a few months of omeprazole

I can't seem to get myself motivated to stay on a weight loss diet - i try for a few days then give it up. I know I'm making my symptoms worse, not to mention the long term effects on my health and fitnessI'm careful to avoid eating food that i know triggers my GORD but I'm no good with a diet

Can anyone advise me on how to lose some weight and what worked for you?

thanks for any advice

Have you tried the Atkinson diet.. it worked for me. it eliminates carbs initially.. then it slowley reintroduces carbs back into the diet.

I would recommend cutting out sugar and alcohol. Try a low GI diet. It isn't about a low calorie diet, it is about changing what you eat so you can eat to keep your blood sugar levels even.

A plant based diet works very well, No Meat, Dairy or Processed foods
