What's the deal with breast pain and perimenopause???

I have written here before with various peri symptoms. Now I have a new one. I am having breast pain, with very sensitive nipples. The pain comes and goes throughout the day and is more prominent in my left breast.

My period is also late. It is usually very early. I had my mammo and breast ultrasound 6 months ago and they were fine. Anybody else get breast pain for more than a few days during perimenopause? I wonder if it has anything to do with the late period. I am 55.

    I've been experiencing similar symptoms-- left breast area and pain, dull ache not sharp, that is intermittent. I'm 45 and am experiencing other perimenopause symptoms, too, like palps, anxiety, etc. I take naproxen occasionally for the pain and a host of vitamins... Not sure what to make of it. It seems to get more pronounced before and during my cycle.

    Just want you to know you are not alone...

    Thanks for the replies. Does anybody take anything non-hormonal to help with the breast pain?

      The only thing I can take these days is Aleve and Ibuprofen. Anything else makes me sick to my stomach. Perimenopause has really messed up my system.

      Non-hormonal: Vitex. Breast pain is, usually, oestrogen dominance.

      - Vitex- Agnus castus (herbal), it promotes progesterone production if the pituitary is still in the mood;

      - Milk thistle + Vit. B6 to cleanse the liver and lower "bad" oestrogen build up;

      May I suggest you to just rub some pain/massage balm? Rheumon gel or cream shoould do it. At least it doen't hurt your stomach.

    Hi, I had a mamo yesterday for my breast pain, all clear and consultant said it is a peri symptom. They have been painful on and off for 8 months and my left breast is the worst. I have been advised to take evening primrose, which I started yeasterday.

    I have also been bleeding on and off since late March but that could be that I had a Mirena coil fitted, my breast pain is worse since that went in. Dr may suggest an oestrogen patch when I see her next week.

    We'll see!

    I know this is late but I also have breast pain and mainly in my left breast. I believe it's part of peri

    One of peri symptoms are breast tenderness. I get it on and off.
