What's this on the back of my head?

So I've had what I thought was a spot on the back of my head since around last August. It bled and would leak puss like any other spot when it was picked.

I use hair clippers once or twice a week so I always thought that it wasn't going away because it wasn't being left to heal due to cutting my hair.

Now it seems pretty solid and doesn't bleed or leak puss when picked, although I try to leave it alone as best I can, and go gently with the clippers

Cheers for any help, I'll be seeing a gp when the world get a back to some normality image

Having a spot for 8 months isn't normal, does it hurt, sting or itch?

No discomfort on it's own but will sting a tiny bit when I like at it, which I try not to do

Can you make a video call to a dermatologist at the moment? A lot of doctors are doing video consultations and if it is something to be worried about, a dermatologist could probably let you know by seeing it on camera. Someone thought they had a spot on their nose for a year and a dermatologist came up to them in a shop and told them they needed to get it examined and it turned out to be a skin cancer. Although this may not be the case in your situation, it is always best to get things looked at that aren't going away.

It may be an ingrowing hair which has become infected. Try using a soft toothbrush with shampoo on it to give the spot a gentle scrub. Dont overdo it and make it sore. Dry the area then gently massage in a small blob of vaseline. Do this alternate days for about a week to 10 days and it may release the hair. Then the bump will gradually resolve. It may help if you can get someone to do this for you.

Can you take a better Picture(Light, Focused)? Is it constant since august? Bleeding or something? Hard or soft? Can you see thicker blood vessels there?

    Best regards.
