What's this pain!

Hi all

Had lower left side abdominal pain for about a week plus when I press down near the ovary I can feel a really tender sensitive area.

Went to GP, treating me for a urine infection although sample was clear. Starting to worry now as not getting any better.

Anyone experienced something similar?

Thank you

A pelvic ultrasound to check ovaries/uterus would not cost the world and at least exclude an obvious reason there.

Your  sigmoid/rectum is not filled with stool, constipated to cause this issue?

Keeping stool soft and daily bowel movement is another thought.

Urinary tract infections can be missed if only a quick, right there 'dip stick' test is done as not all bacteria produce nitrit (gram positive ones), also pyuria (presence of leucocytes during infection) is present in 80%. So even a negative dip stick does not exclude a UTI, possible false negative in 20%.

Since treatment didn't help, it could either be resistant-to-this-antibiotic- bacteria (a urine sample culture could be done) or it is completely different issue and looking at the localisation, sounds like that.

Please go back, be persistent and get at least a pelvic ultrasound, is my opinion.

    Good luck!

It could be an inguinal hernia. . Try a really good ultrasound place.
