What shoes for PF?

I've been suffering from PF for about 20 months. I've tried exercises from the internet, saw a podiatrist three times, bought various insoles and bought a foot bath. Nothing helped and I was in a great deal of pain. I bought so many different shoes, sandals and trainers, then my daughter bought me Birkenstock thong sandals and they have helped more than anything else. Problem is, winter's on its way! I've read that certain New Balance Trainers are good for PF, (rollbar, stabilicore or TS2 according to their website). Has anyone tried them? If so, which ones, and did they provide any relief to the Plantar Fasciitis? I've had Physio which helped a bit. I would very much like to avoid the cortizone injections if possible. Thanks.

I have found that crocs work the best for me so far...even the cheap imitation one's that u see at Walmart or a bargain store. Why? Because they seem
To cup the heel instead of hitting the floor flat on your heel when you walk and for me..that's where my main pain is..right in the center of my heel. Some have a furry liner in them and that will help in winter even tho the shoe usually may have some small air holes on top. And alot of them dont. Just try those cheap rubber ones and you will be surprised how it will relieve alot of your pain.

Thanks so much for your reply. I'll try the crocs for holiday but I wouldn't be able to wear them to work and that's what I need them for. I read on a forum a few months ago that someone had bought New Balance footwear and that they found the results to be excellent. But I can't remember what number they were. I've tried so many things that taking suggestions from people who have or previously had PF makes sense. Thanks again for your help.

Try the new balance 1260v4 870v3 860v4 940v2. U must avoid wearing hard leather shoes but must get shoes with good heel cushing and arch support to reduce stress on the plantar fascia. Ive also tried brooks beast 12, asics gel evolution 6 or foundation 11. So far the foundation 11 gives the best mixture of support and cushioning but its hard to get one these days. Dont get the asics kayano or gt 2000 they really feel like normal running shoes with just cushioning. All the best in recovery, jonathan
