What should I do for my 6 months old son?

Hello guys,

I hope you are doing well so far. My son is 6 months old. He is blind (not by birth). He was early birth about 28th weeks. He was in the NICU for 13 days. We didn't go to any eye doctors within this time. Now our son don't see the light of the world. Doctor said he is blind. Both of his eyes are damaged.

What should we do now? Is there any chance to recover. Where should we go for better treatment?

Thank you!

Vakta, I am so sorry to read your message. This must be awful for you . You need to get a proper diagnosis of why your son is blind. There are many reasons for blindness and some can be treated , others cant. Was it an ophthalmologist who told you that? or the NICU doctor.

Do get an Ophthalmologist, an eye specialist, to look at your sons eyes and ask for a proper diagnosis in writing. This may help you to understand what exactly is the cause of your sons condition. They will also be able to tell you about any possible treatment, if any is available at all.
