Hi priya,
What a great question 🙂 I'm thinking of trying magnesium and vitamin B6 as I've read this can be good for our mood and help prevent headaches. I do hope some other ladies come along and offer their experiences.
This may be of interest to some, I suffered with bilateral foot pain and tingling which was helped immensely by Vitamin B12 (was deficient). It also helped the skipped beats I was feeling and the forgetting of words. So if you have any of these symptoms it may be worth getting this tested as it's very easy to put everything down to hormones (even though they can cause these symptoms).

hi Finky,
i myself am going to try the B6 vitamin too . my b12 levels are normal but i have heard it’s good to supplement B12 if you are fatigued. i on/off use a magnesium spray but i don’t use it consistently , it can lower the BP. For me the biggest issue is the debilitating fatigue that leaves me bedridden. Also reading more about the importance of detoxing liver for removing the bad estrogen from the body. homeopathy can help with that, there are good liver detox remedies in homeopathy. hoping more ladies will chime in with what helps them with these symptoms.

Hi Priya,
There is a lot of controversy over what level of B12 signifies a deficiency but I won't go into that today 😂 I would be here all day. A good vitamin B complex may well give you a energy boost. Have you had your ferritin and thyroid checked to rule this out? Ferritin is our iron stores and this can be low even if other markers for iron deficiency are normal. How about vit D? This is another important one that can cause fatigue of it's too low. Do you sleep well?
I have Gilbert's syndrome (faulty gene that affects how bilirubin is removed from the body) interestingly this gene is also responsible (in part) for getting rid of estrogen. I've read that milk thistle is good to help liver detoxification but haven't taken it myself.
You may also be interested in something called seed cycling - you take different seeds (flaxseed, pumpkin seeds etc.) at different times throughout the month to help hormone balancing. Might be worth a read.
Let us know how you get on and I hope you find something that helps you soon.

@Finkyb Sorry i replied before I had scrolled down and read your reply!
I too have Gilberts and am peri-menopausal!
I would love to chat to you more about this - especially about oestrogen and Gilberts - my HRT specialist put me on transdermal patches to bypass the liver because of my Gilberts.
Thank you in advance
Helen

Hey Priya....
Currently, I'm taking two multi-vitamins every other day, and I take a B complete vitamin, once a week, I tend to increase it, when my stress escalates. Suffice it to say, when stiffness and arthritis rear their ugly heads, I take two turmeric curcumin tablets... Be well, my menopausal sister.

It would be such a long list. I have to take vitamins because of birth defects that affect my stomach. I can't process or digest nutrients properly. I have to take a lot of vitamins. Its all regulated by my doctor.
When I started Peri I added Magnesium, Potassium, Evening Primrose Oil, D-Mannose, Cinnamon & Mastic Gum.
