I am a week post op (laprascopic Total hysterectomy and BSO)
Just wondering what everyone got up to around the house at this stage?
I know we have to be careful....

here are so helpful one of my worries is that
I live alone my sons & daughter in laws are
close by but I don't want to be a nuisance, I
just hope I can manage. I had a Rectocele
repair in 2014 I wish that had done it all then, I'm 62 now & overweight but not un healthy
really I work full time.
God bless all the ladies on this site for
supporting each other.

May need help cooking etc, I had mine done vaginally, I was cooking the day
I came out of hospital, I had bought one of those table top cookers
To get me through so I wasn't bending down lifting things out, just so long
As you remember the weight restrictions, i.e. nothing heavier than
A kettle of water,
this is what I did, of course it won't suit everyone.
I was 61 when I had my hysterectomy, I'm a bit of a rebel, I was taking my dogs
Out the day I got home, my neighbour almost had kittens when she
Saw me lol.

my only choice is a sister miles away
in Dorset. I have a 15 year old grand daughter but she may be nervous to
stay at first. I guess if it comes down
to it one of my sons will have to stay
but its embarrassing to be honest.
Thank you so much for the helpful
advice.

also a bit of a rebel. I would prefer
to be home in my own bed but i think
you maybe correct & they will keep
me in once they realise ive no one
here. Its the curse of living alone &
being independent which i love & at
62 now I know i won't be capable for
ever. I don't know yet till my meeting
next week how it will be done. I'm
terrified to be honest i can still clearly
remember coming round after my
rectocele repair & the pain was so
awful i could hear screaming & didn't
realise it was me. I'm sure its stuck in
my head & freaks me out so I keep
thinking this op will be much worse.
But...things are so unpleasant now
& having lost two cousins in their
50s to Ovarian & Uterus cancers I
should stop being a wimp & get the
right mind set. Thanks Phoebe.

Consultant who told me was shocked by my laid back response,
The odd thing is that I suffer horrendous panic attacks and am
Agoraphobic, it was the trip to hospital that scared me more
Than the diagnosis.

We have access to it, within about an hour of getting home I broke
Out! Lol I'm agoraphobic so don't go more than 3 miles from home
But I couldn't wait to get in the fresh air.
