What to do about emotional blunting?

I was on 20mg of Citalopram for about 2 months, but a couple days ago had to up the dose to 30mg due to feeling so low, crying every day, and not seeing any improvement. The whole time I've been on Citalopram I've had the problem of being so emotionless. The only emotion I could feel whilst on 20mg was sadness, but I couldn't feel any excitement or happiness.
Now that I've upped the dose to 30mg, I am not crying everyday but I still feel so emotionally blunted. I know the emotions I should be feeling but I just don't feel them. It's horrible not feeling anything. I know that I'll have to wait several weeks to see how the 30mg goes, but if the emotional bluntness continues, does anyone know any ways of helping this? I've researched and many people say about adding in another medication or switching medications entirely, Wellbutrin has popped up a few times.
Anyone know any medications that have helped stop them feeling so flat?

Hi there. I am in a similar position. 7 weeks on 20mg and 3rd day on 30mg. I've felt really numb and emotionless too. not always but defo since I upped dose. I'm hoping that its a side effect that wears off soon. Give it a little while longer if you can and then speak to your GP and see what they say. I'm certain, although it has only been 3 days, that the 30mg is working better for my anxiety. it's definitely more suppressed. still struggling with fatigue and rubbish sleep though so hoping that gets better soon. hope things work out for you soon. keep in touch, always happy to chat. I find it really helps xx
