I am on the initial stage of cs as per my doctor,he says I don't need physio ,I've Been exercising for some months ,the isometric exercises do seem to help .the pain and tingling in my fingers is less frequent ,thanks to God,but my neck pain episodes is a daily thing now!! Soft collars don't help, and I have to resort to pain killers..
Do u guys think it's normal to have such daily episodes? And I will be okay or do I need to do another course of an NS AID.???
I am trying to avoid regular use of anti inflammatories since they have serious side effects when taken over a long time and I believe this baby is going to go with me to my grave

There could be a number of different reasons for having the episodes, eg, if one of your discs is compressed it may it may be leaking which can irritate the nerves, or little bony spurs called osteophytes maybe catching the nerves.
Try writing a pain diary to identify what makes your neck worse, are you sitting for long periods of time, look at posture etc.
There are other medications that can be used, gabapentin, tramadol, Tapentadol etc, etc.
Compression shirts may help, I have several from Pelham & Strutt, expensive but I've found them to be very useful.
Massage & acupuncture may also help.
Sounds as if you are really suffering, so may be worth asking your GP to refer you for a definitive diagnosis.

Your GP is fobbing you off
Do not wear a collar - they're not advised anymore
Any type of bulging disc is a prolapse
Mine is only considered MILD
But it's the worst pain iv ever had & the MRI only views it when you are lying down
There is a book called HOW TO TREAT YOUR NECK by Robin McKensie - that is very good.
If you are in pain - it's for a reason, it took me 6 months to get my GP to refer me, you could just suggest that you are not happy with the management of your care.
Also GABAPENTIN & PREGABALIN do help
Sorry this us not a fluffy note, just the points you should ask for, I'm a bit disillusioned with the NHS
