What to eat before a 3 hour long exam

I have a written exam in 2 days for my professional qualification where I have to perform my very best for 3 hours. I have sat similar exams before and I have found that I run out of steam about 2 hours in. Usually at work I would snack on some filling stuff throughout the day in small portions, e.g. nuts and bananas, protein bars when hungry. FYI, I am not overweight, I eat healthy just quite often.

I am not allowed to bring any food to the exam centre (or access any from my locker during the exam if I was to bring any), this is not negotiable.

The exam starts at 11am, so I would probably have a breakfast around 7.30 and then a second breakfast at 10.30 before going in.

What foods would be recommended to prolong the energy levels for my exam? It sounds dramatic but my career depends on this, so whilst I am studying my hardest, I want to ensure I can deliver the results on the day.

Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

Oats are known to release energy at a slower rate as are sweet potatoes. Look online for other foods with a slow energy release. I eat oat cakes they are good with a variety of toppings.

    Good luck in your exam

As Beverley suggests something with Oats would be good.
