What to expect after Prostate Biopsy

I am going into week 3 after having a biopsy. The doctor told me about probably seeing blood in urine, stool and semen. I saw in urine and stool the first few days and now this past weekend I saw a little rust colored once during urination. I would like to know others experience after the biopsy and how long before you saw no blood or dried blood in urine, stool and semen. I get worried when I see blood anyway. Thanks in advance for any info about your experience. I have another appointment at the end of next month so hope everything is cleared up completely by then.

Little rust is a good signal to heal. Do not bend your waist and lift heavy object.

By the way, why do you need the prostate biopsy? What was your PSA level change ? Had you undergone the MRI before the biopsy?

My PSA had be running around 3.5 to 3.9. At my annual checkup in December is was 6.8. Went to my Urologist in January for a recheck and it was 6.9. So he felt I should get the biopsy to make sure it wasn't cancer.
I also have enlarged around 81 when they did the biopsy. Take Tamsulosin to keep things flowing. Followup scheduled for September. So really don't know the reason.for the spike. I had a small tumor in my bladder removed in 2013. None aggressive. Had Cystoscopes, not fun, for 5 years after that but no new signs. So needless to.say I was glad when they told me the.bioposy was benign. What all have you been through with yours?

Did you have sexual activity or UTI/prostatitis before PSA 6.8 in December?

probably a few days before the blood draw in December but made i did not ejaculate about 2 weeks before the January one. Only time I had a UTI was a week after the biopsy. Just finished the antibiotics last week. I read about ejaculate right before could make PSA go up.

You did have something done that affected your PSA, didn't you? Do not worry. No news is good news after the biopsy.

Not sure what could have significantly affected the 2nd test in January, but we will see if it is down when they recheck in September. And yes, no new news or symptoms would be very welcome for me.

Good news. Finally semen today was clear of any blood. it took a full 8 weeks. I found on the VA website they said could take up to 2 months. Hope this helps someone else not to feel as anxious as I was feeling. Thanks again to everyone for your responses.
