    Hey Stella.

The saying that I like and it is well suited to this topic is

" through every dark night there's a brighter day after that"

    Enjoy ur day and smile

When I told someone about my fear of having a heart attack for the past 2 years they said " and how many heart attacks have you had in that time?" it really made me think about the time I had wasted worrying x

What do you mean 'get paid', I do not like the sound of that, it will encourage healthy people to donate just for the money and damage their health. Please sort this out.

I can always trace anxiety periods back to recent or even current ongoing events,be they trouble with my 75% useless GP practice,or the state deciding it's about time they tried standing on my neck yet again. At the moment I'm dealing with both concurrently, having just had my vital PIP disallowed, and as per usual no help forthcoming from most of the GPs.

So basically it's a sort of reactive anxiety,in much the same way as I've had 3 or 4 periods of acute, but not necessarily chronic depression.

If and when I'm subjected to extreme unprofessional rudeness,I always say, with a smile on my face "Don't worry doctor,(or whoever it may apply to) I can see the level of respect you have for me,so rest assured it'll always be reciprocated" It always makes me feel considerably better immediately....I can't speak for how they may interpret that particular piece of information.

    Hi

My anxiety started way back in 1981 when I was a single parent taking care of a toddler with little support. I was aware that I wasn't feeling well and at first I thought I was coming down with a virus, this is back in the days when anxiety was a taboo subject and I really didn't know what was wrong only that I was terrified of my symptoms, thinking I was dying and worried silly about who might have to look after my daughter!!

My GP gave me antidepressants which I had to stop taking because they made me onto a zombie and I had to be alert for my daughter.

I was eventually referred to a psychologist who helled my vastly.

My turning point was after one day arriving back home after feeling a complete failure because I had felt so ill while out and about and I was in tears as always! anyway at that moment I decided I needed to turn it around to thinking positively, I started to tell myself that I had actually been out and arrived home not having died, and gave myself praise for it, I went out every day no matter how bad I felt and stood up to it, it was extremely hard to do but I decided it was my only choice if I wanted to be myself again, bit by bit I overcame it but the anxiety has never left me it's just that I don't let it rule me!!

I went on to marry and have another three children, unfortunately my anxiety has returned under a new guise, it started after I hit 60yrs of age, things in my life started to change, two of my grown up children left home within weeks of each other and I suddenly became health anxious as in every ache and pain is ok unless you are over 60 according to google, I had a feeling of being redundant and old, it took me a while to realise that I was again suffering from anxiety, symptoms include dizzyness, balance problems, headachey feeling, head tightness, a feeling of when looking into the distance of things seeming surreal, I put this down yo anxiety because these symptoms become worse when I'm out and about especially on my own, I am taking the same approach as last time and standing up to it! I don't intend going on any medication but that's my choice.
