What were your experiences with ovary removal post menopause

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any information on why if a person has an post-menopausal ovarian cyst on one ovary that the doctors would want to remove both ovaries. That seems aggressive to me. I understand minimizing the risk of cancer, but as far as my research goes, the ovaries do seem to serve a purpose after menopause as well. Just wondering if anyone has any information?

I was also wondering if anyone could share their experience on having both ovaries removed post menopause? Did you have symptoms?

Thank you so much any information or advice would be so helpful. Just quite anxious.
