What would be the most important research to do related to fibroids?

I am a researcher considering a new study in to uterine fibroids. Please help us to prioritize our research by selecting the most important area to you in to the following list.

  1. is it to develop treatments that saves the womb (avoid hysterectomy) and therefore fertility?

  2. Or to prevent fibroids happening?

  3. Or stop the fibroids coming back after treatment?

  4. Or to have a way to test treatments in the lab for individual patients before they try them in real life?

  5. or to make surgery for fibroid safer?

    I think the best research would be to find out why they happen. Female hormones are the things that are generally mentioned, but there must be other factors that can drive the growth of these things.
