There are many PP drugs: omeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole, esomeprazole, etc.

All research has shown them to be as effective as each other when taken in equivalent dose but some may be better tolerated by some patients. But they reduce acid rather than reflux.

Acid reflux has the two dimensions: reflux is what passes from the stomach into the oesophagus. PPIs reduce the acidity of this to reduce damage.

It's quite possible you are still experiencing reflux symptoms that are non-acidic which need to be managed by lifestyle, or even surgery.

Find the website for the free encyclopaedia DownWithAcid which has chapters on managing reflux.

No different there all PPI'S, protein pump inhibitors, lethal medication, quit, and control it with diet and exercise. I'm speaking from experience believe me.

      "Lethal medication"? Where's your evidence?

Despite the bad press from those who do not know the difference between causality and correlation nor understand about relative risk, PPIs are actually amongst the safest drugs.

Do check out the chapter on "Controversy over long term medication" in the free, fully researched and approved, DownWithAcid encyclopaedia. (Google it.)

That said, PPIs are a very powerful dug and should only be used for a few weeks if necessary unless you have to take them in perpetuity for its probable chemo-protective properties for a condition like Barrett's Oesophagus

Please don't spread misinformation about these drugs. For a lot of people, they can be extremely helpful. I don't know where you're getting "lethal medication" from, but thats just plain false and you may be denying someone the care they need if they are to take your word for it.

Truffles? I was told by 2 different pharmacists a dose of 80mg that the hospital put me on will quote? Kill you!!!!!  And that's a fact. Get off

Rubbish! Your hospital has given you false information.

I was on 80mg for a few years. And they have been tested for 160mg though only in very extreme cases ever used at that strength under direct supervision.

Equivalents: 20mg omeprazole = 30 mg lansoprazole = 40 mg pantoprazole = 20 mg rabeprazole = 20 mg esomeprazole = 30 mg dexlansoprazole (These are the standard maintenance doses.)

It's not you truffles Mr or Mrs charming is getting at? It's me! I stated that PPI'S are lethal! Take it from me, 2 pharmacists and 1 DOCTOR of the record told me quote that dose I was on will kill you!!!! And the DOCTOR went a step further and asked me how's my anxiety levels? Through the roof I said! Anxiety is normal for me due to childhood abuse, 3 years ago anxiety went through the roof, and guess what 3 years ago I started on PPI's! Let's wait for smart arse reply!
