When can I go back to work after epidermoid cyst removal from my back?

Hey, so I had a cyst out of my back last Monday in the end it turned out to be 27x13x13 mm so about 1 inch. The doctor originally said I was ok to go to work after three days but work don't want me back until next Tuesday at leased.
I may be getting the stitches out ether all in one go on Wednesday or in two parts, on Wednesday then the rest on Friday. All up there's 16 stitches with some of thoes being double.
I think work are worried due to the speed of the job and the fact the the stitch is on the side that i use most at work (right upper back just bellow the shoulder) that it my damage the stitch if i go back to early.
So this question has a couple of parts:
Firstly am i risk of doing any damage to it if I go back on Tuesday?
Also how is the removal of stitches likely to play out? How long would it take per session would it take if it was done in to parts? And also how long would it take if they did the whole thing at once?
I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm basically trying to figure out when I can go back to work and how best to schedule all my apointments

Jack..it depends on the type of work you do......is it manual...heavy lifting, stretching etc. If it is then its best not to go back too early as the stitches could tear. your doctor may not have been aware that you do manual work.
They may want to take out half the stitches to make sure the rest will hold if the wound reopens.
Removal of 8 stitches shouldnt take more than 10-15 minutes. The wound will be assessed after those 8 have been removed and if its ok they may remove the rest but do be guided by what they say. You dont want this breaking open again as you will be back to square one, needing to be stitched up again.

Hey, should probably provide a bit more information.
The stich was done very tight 5 double stitches from my understanding on the majority of wond the ether Side there are 4 standard stitches then to add to that there 1 stich ether side to help secure it even more. When I first got it very tight to the point where you could feel the stitches pulling if I moved my arm. The stitches are all non-dissolvable.
I work in retail. Front of store, cashier. Very busy store. The work is very repetitive with the involvement of heavy lifting and stretching. Normally I would be working at a very fast pace on the right side the same side I had the cyst on.
I should probably add that The way this all played out the doctor did the procedure then the nurse did the stitches. I've had a patch on it since it was done so I'm only going off what the nurse told me.

Just a little update: Last night the wond randomly became very sore with the pain running all over my shoulder and up my neck. I think I my have been putting to much pressure on it when i was siting down. I ended up taking Paracetamol and going to bed. today the pain not as bad unless I use my right arm to much. and the work involves applying pressure.

Hi, Jack! In general, any kind of surgery with incision and suture has a recovery time of about 10 to 14 days, which is when the stitches are removed.
In general, three days would be enough to return to work still with the suture, but as in your case the surgery is exposed to friction and pressure (from what I understood), three days seems very little to me.
About the stitch removal, this is usually a very quick procedure, which lasts a few minutes. So I would say that the removal of your 16 stitches would take about 15 minutes, if everything is in order with the healing.

So should I just wait until the stitches are removed before I go back? The stiches will ether come out on in two parts first being on Wednesday then the rest on Friday or they will all come out on Wednesday Or in the very unlikely scenario they may all come out on Friday but I doubt that will happen
