i had both ovaries tubes and a 10cm cyst removed a month ago,  wondered when i can walk dog and swim again as i have not had a ffollow up appt through yet.

My dog pulls but he keeps looking at me and cant understand why i dont take him! missing my weekly swim too -  i have been quite well since,  apart from my fibro that has given more trouble than this op.

Hi Jude, I had the same op 5 weeks ago and have noticed a big difference in what I’m able to do over the last week. I’m going back to work in 1 week and I’m back to normal activities although I’m still being careful not to lift too heavy weights. I reckon you could definitely be taking your dog out from now on, walking is the best exercise to start with.  Hope you continue to do well, Aileen

Hi again, meant to say in my earlier reply that my gynaecologist said that I wouldn’t have a follow up appointment as the surgery had all gone well.

    Hi Jude,

I hope you’re feeling ok! I had a laparotomy 6 weeks ago, with one ovary and tube removed and a 22CM cyst. I was told not to engage my muscles in my abdomen for 3 months, because of the risk of hernia. Also not to swim or have a bath for the same period at risk of infection. But I’d say walking and running is fine!

    Hope this helps!

    Take care,

    Janine

Do u  or did you have any burning pain or stabbing near incision like feeling like muscles underneath were in process of healing. I had laparascopic and the one hole they pulled my 11.7 cm mass out was the bigger and i am assuming muscles had to have been cut and nerves. I keep feeling a stabbing burning pain near there when i bend or reach or cough and sneeze.

I had an open surgery 3 weeks ago. I was told I could go into the pool as soon as my incision is completely healed which is usually at about 4 weeks. And still not rigorous activity for 6-8 weeks which is what I would consider laps or swimming to much. But lazy lounging in the pool is ok after the incision heals. I have a large vertical incision about 15 inches long. 38mm roughly.
