Hi I have started Xenical orlistat 120mg on the 7 april (9 days ago) and i can't see anything happening and am starting to think will they ever ? I am a 17 stone male and used to eat whatever i see... BUT... since taking these tablets i have eaten very healthy meals such as salad (cucumber tomatoes lettuce etc) & vegetables, .. even stopped using butter and dairy products on bread ..so its just 1 slice of bread on its own with a meal or 2 if its a salad sandwich, basically stopped eating fatty foods coz i have read the outcome of running to the toilet rolleyes ... on day 1 i took over an hour of staring at the tablet before taking it thinking it would be like a laxative or something lol smile here is an example of my daily eating :

Breakfast : 1 slice of toast with no butter or margarine only Marmalade & some Porridge (no sugar)

Dinner : Salad tomatoes lettuce cucumber onion & ham or chicken breast & 1 slice Dry Bread

healthy sandwich in mid afternoon or pot noodle

evening Supper : usually something like potatoes or salad ...or 1 of them McCains Micro chips Box (which is usually about 5 chips in box) with salad and nothing else

then its Bedtime ...oh and some fruit throughout the day like Bananas pear grapes etc,

I have also started walking alot usually about a mile aday + my usual daily walking about, i have even bought a Cross Trainer exerciser and do 15 mins on that per day , don't eat sugary things like biscuits

I take each tablet with food at dinner / afternoon snack & suppertime....

so whats happened so far : no weight loss only gained 1lb sad and no change in toilet poops lol smile

sorry for the long read but i am a pot bellied man who don't drink or smoke & stopped eating fatty foods with no results as of yet.

best regards

Martin

The weight will come off but you can eat other food apart from salads! give it a couple of weeks and it will come off make sure you drink tons of water as they can make you bloated/constipated in the first few weeks. smile let me know how you get on

Hiya, like martin above i to started on the tabs on monday just gone,

its interesting about drinking tons of water as i dont recall reading that in the info sheet that come with them?

i will definately start drinking more water {i drink upto 8 mugs of herbal tea aday} as i feel that im getting constipated since starting them and i have definately noticed bloating and also being a little windy biggrin

i weighed myself today and my scales say iv lost 2lbs in five days, which is good?, but hopefully when the tabs kick in, more will come off between each weigh in, im thinking of weighing myself every saturday then at the GPs every 4 weeks

the reason i asked to be put on them is due to being vertually non mobile due to mobility problems so not being able to walk/work the weight off, i know the weight dosent help, but my poor mobility is due to other things not just the weight

im also a male, standing at 6'7" and weighing 22.3 st,,,,,,,,,,,,,, hears hoping the weight starts t fall off sooner than later,,,,,,,, but then i will have trouble kitting out my wardrobe as getting clothes for my height is a right pain, but hey better to be thinner and have no clothes than being big with clothescheesygrin

Hi Jim, nice to see another man hoping to lose wieght like myself, good luck, i have a disability too,  mine is deafness , ..and dizzyness when i try exercise because of hearing problems, ...my doctor suggested i try these tablets to help so i am hoping for some results as i put about 5 stone on over the years whilst having ear operations etc, at the moment am abit scared to eat fatty foods incase of the nasty side effects other people have said on the internet forums and youtube, so so far not too bad 😊👍

      Hi

You don't get a diet sheet with Xenical unless your gp gave you a general healthy eating sheet. Drinking water is essential regardless of dieting or not and it really helps weight loss and the bloating/constipation on these tablets. What do you eat?

i have bought tons of clothes since starting on these last year i don't mind though at least they are now a 12-14 instead of a 24. Some people lose weight quickly i did some don't give it a couple of weeks and you should notice, i never weighed myself at home i would obsess too much so done it every 4 weeks at the doctors.

Also whatever you do don't eat anything high in fat and you can still eat lots of food without limiting yourself

      Good Luck

      Hi,

i dont usually eat really fatty foods anyway but did lape the other day and had a pork pie with salad and we know pork pies are loaded with fats,,,,,, no nasty side effects though

      i eat tons of fruit, always have, some experts say i eat to much fruit {cant winrolleyes}

i always start the day with bran flakes and a banana, herbal tea

lunch is usually a sandwich or cup-o-soup

      fruit through the day

now the warmer weather is hear? i will be having more salads

in my last job i used to drive for a living and ate so much junk, choc bars, crisps, kebebs, you name it i ate it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that was 4 years ago when i started getting mobility problems and getting worse {some days i cant even get out of bed} so hence not being able to walk/work the weight off

anyway onwards and upwards as the saying goes

      Jim
