When should I take the Folic Acid for Mtx?

My Rheumatologist said 2 days before 2 days after, I have read 24 hours before and 24 hours after but I have also read that people take it every day?

    I take 1 mg. daily of folic acid and 20 mg. weekly of methotrexate. I have had no problems.

    Thanks everyone! Ive found the 5mg too strong for my body and it makes me sick so am cutting it in quaters and going to have 1ishmg each day instead!

    I take 5mg daily.  The rheumatologist said that, with injection MTX, there is a constant level of the drug in your system, so there's no point in skipping days or avoiding shot day like some people suggest.  She advised taking it daily since it counters side effects of MTX and you have MTX in you daily.  (Not an expert of course, just passing on what she told me!)
