When to go back to work

Hi all
I'm approaching my 6 week review after a THR, i'm startiing to feel great and almost pain free and walking up to 3 miles a day, my sick note for work runs out this week and although i'm walking 3 miles a day i really don't don't feel ready to go back to work, is 6 weeks too early to return to work.
I've worked for the same company for 28 years and only had a total of 4 weeks off sick so i know i'm not swinging the lead but feel guilty going for walks when perhaps i should be at work.
When should i go back, how long are people normally off after THR

That is really very bad luck having to have faced having to have a revision so soon after primary surgery.
Good luck with your recovery.

Sadly, today's events in London put my problems into perspective.
I am alive, I can walk OK, I'm not in pain with my hip.
How lucky I am.

Nothing to feel guilty about. It's a change I. Your lifestyle for sure and natural wanting to be at work.
It it takes time to get back into the swing of things. When your ready and the bone has grown on the implant tomsecutpre the components then your muscles are coping too with movement. Joint surgery takes time to get back into shape.
everone heals at different paces and I hope your getting along with little to no pain or complication issues.

Had a hip resurfacing (not constricted to THR rules I believe) 3 weeks ago and desperate to do some light cycling at gym etc.....
Anyone ever feel the same and what did they do?

I went back at 2 weeks / didn't have to do much but was there / only about 6 hrs/day for first week. I'm at 8 months post op RTHR. All is good walking every day / think I need to go back for more PT. Walking and working not the same as the PT exercises. Good luck, remember to be careful how you move and what you do for at least 3 months. If you have sick leave still, and want to take more time then do it. Try working more on exercises, stretching and strengthening.I had 2 knee replacements before the hip surgery. 2 1/2 years ago. I'm a big believer in the PT. Good luck
