When to have surgery w mono?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I was diagnosed w mono about 3 weeks ago. I now have found I have a hernia. I feel ok from the mono, having surgery now scares me. Should I wait a month? I'm not in any pain from the hernia. I asked the surgeon and he gave me a blank stare.

I worry about how my body will react infection wise.

    Hi r05149,

Oh so sorry to hear you have a hernia at the same time as mono. I can understand why surgery is a scary prospect, especially at a time when not feeling on top form. I honestly not sure what the best thing to do is, other than really to discuss it with your doctor and ask what he thinks is best under the circumstances.

Thinking about you and remember you are going to make a full recovery from all these ailments.
