When to start Enbrel after total knee replacement

hi, I'm having TKR on September 1st and I have asked my doctor and my Rheumy when to start Enbrel after the surgery and she wasn't too sure , she responded with a vague Mabe 2 weeks after? I didn't feel too comfortable with that I will ask my OS aldo but just want it to know if anyone on this forum has an answer for that or has experience this situation already?

Thank you!

Well presumably there is no strict protocol.

Your doctor was wise not to commit to a date until she has seen how you're responding to the operation.

One thing at a time. A vague 'maybe two weeks', in my book, would be a perfect answer!

When I had emergency hip surgery my OS told me that he would have preffered it if I'd stopped taking enbrel two weeks before he operated. Apparently it slows up the healing process. I'm not sure about the post op time period as I had to stop taking enbrel altogether because I was subject to recurring infections. So I would wait at least until all risk of infections has passed however long that takes - enbrel and infections definitely don't go well together.

Silly me!..if it's two weeks pre-op to allow normal healing time, then I would think the same thing applies for post-op  Best check though.
