Hi, I am at the end of week 4. I take it for anxiety, and still feel anxious. The benefits should appear after 6-8 weeks, if not - better to talk to your doctor and increase the dose or switch to different drug. It takes time, there will be ups and downs. Don't give up yet!

Sleep, energy, or appetite may show some improvement within the first 1-2 weeks. Improvement in these physical symptoms can be an important early signal that the medication is working. Depressed mood and lack of interest in activities may need up to 6-8 weeks to fully improve.

Sertraline does not suit everyone, however it seems to work for most.

I am going to wait until the end of week 8 to give sertraline a really good try.  If no improvement by then you may need to up the dosage or switch to another drug.

I suffered PND which wasn't treated.  Any sort of depression should be treated and you should not have to accept that you will feel like this for the rest of your life.

Hang in there and perhaps go back to your doctor for reassurance.
